How do I order?
To add an item to your shopping basket click the BUY NOW button on the page of the item you require. It is then added to your shopping basket - you can review and revise your basket's contents at any time by clicking the REVIEW BASKET button on the menu on the left of the screen. When you have finished shopping proceed to the checkout. If you don't wish to order online and would like to pay by cheque please call me on 07788 712831.

How much is postage and packing?
Postage and packing is £3.50 for recorded delivery which requires a signature when it is delivered but does not provide insurance. If you would like an item to be posted by Special Delivery which does include insurance please contact me. for costing information.

How long does delivery take?
Items are usually despatched within three working days of payment clearing. I will send you an email advising you when your parcel has been posted, first class Recorded delivery should then arrive within three working days and requires a signature on delivery.

Please note - if you are not available to sign for your order and do not respond to the delivery note provided by the Royal Mail they will eventually return the parcel to me. I reserve the right to charge you for the repeated postage costs incurred in resending the parcel by Royal Mail and will contact you to request payment for the additional postage prior to despatching the order for the second time. If I am unable to contact you within 30 days of receiving the returned parcel the amount of the order will be refunded via the original payment method minus the original postage and packing charge and an administration and re-stocking fee of 25%.

What is NOCHEX?
Nochex is a secure online payment processor for UK debit and credit card payments. For further information visit www.nochex.co.uk. You do not need a Nochex account to pay using this method but if you have one and wish to use it my account name is: sally@jewellerybysallyjane.co.uk.

Availability
The majority of the items shown on the web site are sold on a "first come, first served" basis. The Secret Message jewellery range can either be purchased from stock or different messages and gemstone combinations can be ordered. The site is updated when I process an order but should you order an item which is already sold a full refund or alternative item will be offered. If you would like me to reserve an item for you please telephone me on 07788 712831 or email me. I will be happy to hold an item for you for 3 working days, awaiting your confirmation order and payment.

What happens after I have ordered?
If you have sent payment by cheque please allow 5 working days for the cheque to clear. If you have paid by Nochex or Paypal you will be sent a confirmation email and your order will be despatched within three working days (commissions will be sent within the timeframe agreed when the order was placed).

What happens if a parcel is lost or the jewellery is damaged in transit?
All orders are well wrapped - jewellery and combs are sent out in gift boxes within bubble wrap padded envelopes and tiaras are tissue wrapped within plastic boxes which are then packed in cardboard boxes and protected with loose packing chips. Please note that orders sent by first class recorded delivery are not insured and are sent at your own risk. Proof of posting is provided and a signature is required upon delivery.

Can you make alterations?
The beaded necklaces and bracelets will have an extender chain where indicated.
Unfortunately it is not possible to extend the silver necklaces or bracelets, however, please contact me if you would like me to create a piece to your requirements.
The gold or silver plated earring hooks on the beaded earrings may be exchanged for sterling silver hooks for an additional cost of £1.00 or gold hooks for an additional cost of £6.50. Please contact me before placing your order if you would like this to be done.

Can I return an item?
If you are unhappy with any item please return it to me for a refund (minus postage) or exchange for a different item within 30 days. Items must be returned in their original, unused condition. Regrettably refunds will not be given for items lost or damaged in the post.

Can you make a copy of a piece of jewellery if I send you a picture?
As a member of ACID I do not condone copying of any design work and offer you the opportunity to have something original and personal designed and made just for you. To give me an idea of the styles you like please do send pictures but the piece I make for you will be my design for you, giving you something very personal and special for yourself.

What is ACID?

Anti Copying In Design (ACID) is an organisation which lobbies against the copying of design work and provides its members, who sign up to a code of conduct, with the opportunity to register their designs providing independent proof of the creation date of a design. How long will it take to make an item?
Depending on the style, availability of materials and time of year (spring and summer are usually busy); it should normally take 4-6 weeks to produce a tiara, 3-4 weeks to produce a hair comb, 3-4 weeks to produce an item of silver jewellery or 2-3 weeks to produce an item of beaded jewellery. Obviously if you have ordered more than one item your order may take a little longer but a timeframe for delivery will be agreed when you place your order.
Ideally I like to deliver pieces for weddings at least four weeks prior to the big day to allow plenty of time for the items to be tried on with the outfits and for hairdressers to practise hair styles!

Do you have a catalogue?
As the majority of my pieces are individual, my web site is my catalogue. This allows me to keep it up to date and keep you informed of new designs as soon as they are available. If you would like me to email you when I launch new collections please email me.

Is it possible to have matching necklaces/bracelets/earrings made?
As some of the beads used may no longer be available or may be antique this is not always possible but please contact me to ask and I will do my very best to assist!

What is your privacy policy?
I do not sell or pass on your personal details to anyone. It's as simple as that - I don't like my details being sold and passed on with the resulting junk mail this brings so I will not do it to you!
